Job description: The President is the Chief Operating Officer of the GSA and is responsible for all operations of the organisation including governance and financial obligations. The President oversees all GSA’s services and projects to ensure that its mandate to support the graduate student experience is met.
Meet Meray

I am a third-year Ph.D. student in the Sociology Co-op Program at the University of Waterloo and proudly identify as an Afro-Indigenous Coptic minority woman. My research examines the historical, socio-political, and cultural factors that shape the experiences of Afro-Indigenous Coptic Orthodox Christians in Egypt and Coptic Orthodox Christian migrants in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, I explore how Western countries, like the United States and Canada, play a role in shaping the experiences and perceptions of anti-Coptic sentiment among both groups.
